Ultra-Low Contrast Imaging and PCI – Dr Ziad Ali

Article sponsored by ACIST Medical Systems

Written by Dr Ziad Ali, “Ultra-Low Contrast Imaging and PCI” highlights how all three ACIST modalities play a role in allowing physicians to optimize their coronary catheterizations and PCIs while using minimal contrast.

ACIST CVi serves as the foundation of this strategy and HDi and RXi provide real value as well, providing our customers with a full suite of solutions. So with the contrast shortage still affecting some of our customers, this article shows the importance and relevance of reducing contrast. And is yet another tool to help drive the business and continue the amazing success you all have had so far this year. Thanks to Dr Ali for his continued partnership.

ACIST AT EUROPCR 2022

EuroPCR celebrated being back home at the Palais des Congres in Paris for the first time in 3 years. From 17 to 20 May, the congress took place in a hybrid version with a complete on-site program and a full digital experience. HCP’s who were unable to travel to Paris, could take advantage of an educational course that would previously have been inaccessible. As the PCR organization says ‘Online learning at EuroPCR has made a decade’s progress in just 2 years’.

Over 8,000 attendees participated in person in Paris and another 3,000 joined online. These attendees came from 107 countries, and there were more than 750 presenters from 78 different countries.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

EuroPCR always has a densely packed scientific program with data from international trials being released and the latest insights into key topics presented in more than 290 educational sessions.

Olivera Kotevska, Johann Neudorf and Jeff Soto from the EMEA Marketing Team dove into the course program and attended the sessions that were of most interest to ACIST’s technologies. A summary of findings is available and we will be happy to share with you upon request.

ACIST BOOTH

This year, ACIST had no sessions planned in the official program, but there were many encounters with physicians and our global distributors, at our booth and during meetings and dinners. It was also great fun to finally be back together again with colleagues from ACIST,  Bracco and Distributors from many different regions around the globe!

First HDi in Canada

Congratulations to Dr. Ram Vijayaraghavan and the Scarborough Health Network regional cardiac centre in Toronto, Canada for a successful installation of our HDi IVUS system!

“This was the first time a Canadian hospital has trialed this particular intravascular ultrasound technology”

According to Dr. Vijayaraghavan, ‘this particular HDi device has an easy-to-use interface with very, very high-quality images, and is the first to enable what we call High Definition (HD) IVUS.’

‘HDi helps the care team to best visualize any coronary complications that can lead to major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).’

You can read more about the first successful trial of the HDi IVUS in Canada in this article by the Scarborough Health Network: https://shn.ca/looking-inside-your-heart-in-hd/

ACIST at GulfPCR-GIM 2021

Last month, we attended GulfPCR-GIM in Dubai where we were joined at the ACIST booth by our UAE partners from Al Umnia.

The GulfPCR-GIM Meeting is the Middle East’s largest congress devoted to Interventional Cardiology.

The 11th edition of the “leading-edge interventional Course in the Middle East” gathered 635 participants in Dubai. Participants were “delighted to be able to learn, train and exchange all the latest news in interventional cardiovascular medicine during a highly educational 2-day Scientific Programme tailored to the needs of the region and beyond!”.

We all came away with the feeling that it had been a very useful meeting, that it was great to be back in front of our customers again in a public setting, and no doubt hoping that 2022 will bring more opportunities for us to safely meet our customers and each other in public once again.
